His extensive experience in securing financing for independent films has provided him with deep insights into the film market and financing landscape.
Born in London and a native of Brighton, England, Ruffman began his career in 1997 with commercial clients such as Sega, followed by positions at the BBC, ESPN (Costa Rica), and Columbia Pictures (U.K.). He moved to Los Angeles in 2004, joining Unified Pictures where he quickly became a partner, overseeing finance and production.
Ruffman recently served as Executive Producer on the action thrillers THE BEAST, directed by Renny Harlin and starring Samuel L. Jackson, Joel Kinnaman, and Guy Burnet, and TIN SOLDIER, directed by Brad Furman, featuring Jamie Foxx, Robert De Niro, and Scott Eastwood. His notable past credits also include the critically acclaimed DRAGGED ACROSS CONCRETE. Currently, he is Executive Producing Unified's animated adventure THE ARK AND THE AARDVARK, directed by John Stevenson, with voice talent Miles Teller, Aubrey Plaza, and Jenny Slate.
